i didnt realize how bad it had gotten until i tried to dig again and my claws just... scraped. no bite to them anymore. ive been clawing through rock nonstop without even thinking about it. i felt naked. turns out flesh isnt meant to replace tools. i kept assuming i needed a pickaxe for everything. but i figured out my machete works just fine for the lighter stuff. dirt, plants, sand, it slices right through. saves my hands a lot of pain. found a bottle labeled keratin booster. figures they planned for our parts to break down. took a sip. after a while the old layers started flaking off like fur. underneath, they felt sharper. stronger. it was weirdly satisfying watching the worn parts peel away. i like how my claws let me grip the walls better i remembered the humans. they had nails on every finger. all of them. no claws at all. it looked so wrong up close. soft. blunt. freaky how they managed anything with hands like that. i used to think that made them weak. now i wonder if that was the point.
