I took a bad fall. REAL bad. Right into a hole and couldn't climb or dig out of with my injuries. But I made it out with these bits of scrap metal, and want to let others know this, too. Its the cavern walls! Nothing I've found- even dynamite -seems to be able to penetrate the outer boundaries of the caverns. But they are uneven, and if you stack enough bits of scrap metal on top of each other, you can wedge them in these tiny gaps and make an entire scrap foothold. When I was bleeding out in that dark hole, I used my collected debris to make a sort of staircase to escape and find emergency supplies. I hope you never wind up in that situation, though. Maybe you could use this trick to protect you from injury in the first place? Who knows what other nasty things are in here with us. Maybe you'll catch up to me and we can share strategies.
